Progress of the flight

Before the rendezvous…

Before being able to take off, first of all, the company’s pilots must be sure of good meteorological conditions: a clear weather, lack of rain and especially a steady wind less than 20km / h. This is why the flight confirmation will be made at the earliest 24 hours before your flight. There are no medical contra indications (except for pregnant women that we don’t agree to take), but we ask you to report any illness or disability that may have an impact on the flight.
Those prone to vertigo have nothing to fear about. The balloon is completely dropped out of the ground and like electricity, dizziness needs a thread! Casual wearing is recommended: trousers, flat shoes and cap (heels are not allowed in our baskets). The temperature in the air is the same as on the ground, seasonal clothing is enough.

At the rendezvous…

Flights take place at dawn or dusk to avoid thermal winds and allow us to enjoy the most beautiful lights, scheduled appointments therefore depend on the sunrise and sunset, varying according to the season.
Pilots and crew greet you and unleash a helium balloon that will allow them to check the direction and strength of the wind, then they choose a place to take off where you will be driven by car. It takes about 3 hours before returning to the meeting point.

At the take-off place…

The team poses the basket, layers and attaches the balloon to be spread out, with your help if you want to!
The pilot then makes a briefing of the flight.
Using a fan, he proceeds to the inflation of the balloon. It takes about 10-15 minutes to fill the balloon with air. Once full, then it is heated by the burners which are filled of propane liquid.
Once the air inside the balloon gets hotter (and therefore lighter) than outside, it starts to stand up slowly, followed by the basket. At that moment the pilot invites you to come in and gives you the final recommendations.

In the air…

After a smooth take-off, you're off for a magical and unforgettable adventure! The itinerary is not beforehand known: it depends on the winds as the balloon moves in the wind. But the choice of the take-off place allows you to enjoy the most beautiful landscapes. You’ll see sometimes treetops, sometimes the clouds.

Back on earth…

After 1 hour flight, it's time to prepare for landing! The pilot chooses the most appropriate place and asks you to take the proper position as approaching to the chosen area. The basket then lightly touches the ground and the balloon stops and stands still. The rest of our team, then asks for a little help to pick up the balloon. After all these emotions, the traditional "Aérostiers’ toast" takes place: local wine and croissants in the morning and savoury cakes at night. While you raise your glasses to this great adventure, the pilot gives you your flight certificate! It's time to join the original place of rendezvous by car before giving one last glimpse…
